Evenings for Two

The Evenings for Two Blog is the ongoing edition of the book “Evenings for Two in the Triangle: Your guide to romance, fine dining and fun.” (Business Ink, 2004).

In the book and on the blog, I suggest great restaurants and try to pair them with fun things to do to create “date night” recommendations. There’s SO much more to do than just dinner and a movie.

I live in Chapel Hill, I went to Duke for undergrad and my former creative services company, Calliope, is located in north Chatham.  I try to get to Raleigh as often as I can because there’s some great food there, but I recognize that this blog can be a little “west Triangle.”

I’ve been fortunate enough to live in some great food cities — New York, Washington D.C., Miami and San Francisco.  When Bill and I decided to leave the Bay Area after having kids, we agreed that wherever we moved, there had to be at least 10 good places to eat. I already knew about Nana’s and Magnolia Grill from my Durham days.  We discovered the West End Wine bar, Elaine’s on Franklin in Chapel Hill and the Carolina Brewery and there was no turning back.

So here’s the deal — I’ll check ’em out and help you create an itinerary for a great “date.”  You let me know if you had a good time or if there’s anyplace you’d like me to “do an advance” for you.
