I’ve recently heard good things about Mint in Raleigh and Toast in Durham.  Any one been there and want to comment?

  1. Toast tops my list of fave lunch spots. Located in Durham at the five points intersection on Main in the Tobacco District, this place serves paninis hot off the press complete with the freshest local ingredients and the most beautiful imports, i.e. parmagiano reggiano, warm olives (served w/orange, rosemary and garlic), pancetta and proscuitto drizzled with truffle oil (yum). TIP: arrive early … there’s always a line out the door of this tiny shotgun cafe. However, turnaround time is fairly quick once you place your order at the counter. The ambience is fun and funky, the staff always greets you with a smile and BONUS: They offer outdoor seating and a lovely list of Italian wines and NC microbrew beers.

  2. BTW: They support BUY LOCAL!
